MAY-A is a Sydney-based singer-songwriter and visual artist known for her introspective lyrics and genre-blending sound that fuses indie pop with alt-rock and electronic influences. A leading voice and advocate of queer representation and challenging traditional norms within the music industry, MAY-A's breakout track “Apricots” (2020) marked a pivotal moment in her career, as it was the first song she wrote about a girl, reflecting her personal journey of self-discovery.
In 2021, she released her debut EP, Don't Kiss Ur Friends, which garnered attention for its candid exploration of relationships and self-discovery. Soon after, in 2022 MAY-A saw mainstream success through her collaboration with Flume on, "Say Nothing,", crowned number 1 on Triple J's Hottest 100 and featured in Netflix series Heartbreak High. MAY-A continued to evolve artistically with her second EP, Analysis Paralysis, released in September 2023, further cementing her place in the Australian music scene.
MAY-A continues to develop her already established relationship with her audience through social media, global touring, personal songwriting and her artistry of visual storytelling. Constantly evolving as an artist and an individual, MAY-A has just released the first single titled "[REDACTED]" from her next body of work, marking a new stage of her career as an independent artist full of passion, drive and creativity.
